1. Service Description

Scriptorian is a scripture study tool that provides access to scriptural texts, AI-assisted study companionship, search, and reference features. The service is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial study purposes.

2. Data Collection and Usage

To improve the service and understand how it is used, Scriptorian collects the following data:

• Your email address (used for authentication via Google)
• Search queries entered in the search bar
• Questions and messages sent to the AI Study Companion
• Scriptures and features you interact with (e.g., viewing footnotes, talks, translations)
• Browser type, operating system, and device category
• Your anonymized IP address (last octet zeroed before storage)
• Date and time of your interactions

This data is used solely to improve the service, diagnose issues, and understand usage patterns. It is not sold to third parties.

3. Data Retention

Analytics events (searches, interactions) are automatically deleted after 90 days. Your account information is retained until you delete your account. Consent records are retained as required by law.

4. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data we hold about you (see Privacy Policy)
• Export your data in machine-readable format
• Delete all your data and close your account at any time
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect past processing)

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Scriptorian only for lawful personal study. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its APIs.

6. Disclaimers

Scriptorian is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated content may contain errors and should not be relied upon as authoritative doctrinal guidance. Always verify important matters against authoritative sources.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will require re-acceptance.
